According to Sina Entertainment News on October 9th, the first-instance civil verdict on the Internet infringement liability dispute between Yang Zi and Wu Moumou was made public. The verdict shows that the plaintiff Yang Zi claimed that the defendant Wu Moumou was posted on Weibo between January 18 and February 10, 2020. A number of insults and defamation remarks directly related to the plaintiff were published on the website, and their malicious infringements have caused serious negative effects on the plaintiff Yang Zi.
The court found that in this case, the defendant Wu Moumou used derogatory words to describe the plaintiff Yang Zi in Weibo, and the content involved was mainly derogatory and ridicule, which did not belong to the scope of tolerable freedom of speech and public opinion supervision.
As the result of the judgment in this case, the defendant Wu Moumou needed to post a statement of apology on his Weibo account for seven consecutive days within ten days from the effective date of this judgment and compensated to the plaintiff Yang Zi for mental damage and reasonable expenses in total 20,000 Yuan.
